This deck aims to be an accessible and well curated introduction for beginners to 変体仮名.

Sources

The data that I have assembled is based on resources recommended by the 国立国会図書館's リサーチ・ナビ:

- **くずし字学習支援アプリKuLA**（大阪大学）: Aims to be a beginner-friendly introduction to 変体仮名.

- **学術情報交換用変体仮名**（国立国語研究所 aka NINJAL）: Essentially the 変体仮名 that we see today in Unicode.

- **くずし字用例辞典**（児玉幸多）: The most well-regarded くずし字 dictionary. Contains 310 字母 and 2,078 manually cropped variants.

Features

The biggest hurdle with learning 変体仮名 is their sheer number and variation. This deck solves this by grouping all 変体仮名 that share the same 字母 into a single note and tagging each into 4 groups from most to least common.

Each note is divided into 3 cards:

1. 字母 (front) -> 正体仮名 (back)

2. 変体仮名 font (front) -> 正体仮名 (back)

3. 変体仮名 hand writing (front) -> 正体仮名 (back)
