If the kanji looks like one in the left of the image, good! You are using a Japanese font. If not, change your font using the guides below.
Adding the language to Windows
- Press Win + I to open Settings
- Go to System → Time & Language → Language & Region
- Click Preferred Languages → Add a language
- Search for "日本語/Japanese" and install the complete package
Administrative Language Settings
- Open the Control Panel by searching it in the search bar and clicking on it
- Go to Clock & Region → Region
- Go to the "Administrative" tab and click on "Change system locale"
- Search for "Japanese (Japan)" and click "Ok"
